The core is more than the physical center of the body. It is a complex system of musculature. The power and suppleness of the core is at the center of athleticism. A strong and flexible core is essential to performance. It is greatly argued that the strength of the core muscles are the key to success in all sports; the stronger the core, the stronger the athlete. Core strength can increase flexibility and balance. With a strong core, it is less likely an athlete will injure the hamstrings, sprain an ankle and more. This presentation focuses upon the signs of a weak core and how to correct them. Core strengthening and strategies for warm-up and cool down that allow for an athlete to improve dramatically in whatever sport he/she participates in.
